Markham & Gayle Howe
Scholarship Fund in Communications and Choir
Music brought Markham and Gayle Howe together; she was an instrumental music major and he was in the A-State band when they met on campus. They've been making beautiful music together ever since, most recently as part of the University Singers.
Markham not only went to school here, but also served as an instructor in public relations for three years and as executive director of public relations for eight more.
Because they appreciate so much what Arkansas State University has given to them, individually and together, Markham and Gayle have made an endowed gift in their final plans to support the communications and music programs respectively. They said what they learned at A-State prepared them to be successful beyond college and grow intellectually; they believe it is their turn to help carry on that tradition.
