Give to "Mom's Legacy Fund" in Honor of All Moms
Sandra Morgan's mom, Betty Faye Holmes Morgan, never got a college degree. She worked hard though, sometimes three jobs at once, to make sure her children could. Betty was an avid historian, documenting every major event and where her family was at the time it occurred. Sandra, one of seven children, loves history much like her mother did. Sandra, who earned a bachelor's and master's degree at A-State, believes to change society for the better, quality liberal art professionals should be placed in the classroom. Therefore she established the "Mom's Legacy Fund" at Arkansas State University to defray costs for those non-traditional students working diligently to further their education by working on a master's degree.
Sandra knows well the cost of trying to maintain a household, work full-time and go back to school. She wanted to honor her mother by helping others to get the education her mother never could. Although it will take time to endow the fund, she has graciously made Arkansas State University a beneficiary of her retirement plan so one day it will be. Sandra is making sure her mother's legacy—the importance of a quality education she instilled in her children lives on forever.
