Katrina and Oliver Scoggin
Katrina Scoggin was the prototypical "first in her family to attend college," and was the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship, which afforded her not only the opportunity to attend Arkansas State University, but to graduate without the burden of incredible student loans or debt. Having that scholarship was the primary reason she was able to attend college, and the primary reason she chose Arkansas State University.
"I see so many stories these days about graduates beginning their post-collegiate lives under the shadow of that type of debt, and feel it's my duty to pay it forward and provide someone else the same opportunities I enjoyed," Scoggin said.
