Mrs. Alma Ashabranner Stroud*

Alma Stroud was a lady of grace and beauty who appreciated fine things—fine crystal, ceramics, ivory and bronze works, as well as Japanese flower arranging, an art she pursued personally. She also appreciated the learning capabilities a facility like Arkansas State's Museum could provide; one could learn from viewing objects from our past.

An enthusiastic supporter of the museum for more than 15 years, Mrs. Stroud wanted to ensure it could continue to offer educational activities after she was gone. In 2007, she included a bequest in her will to Arkansas State University in support of the museum. Since her death in 2012, the Alma Stroud Endowment has done just that.

She was a person who gave from her heart, not out of a desire for fame. In perhaps a poignant twist of fate, for each museum educational program her endowment benefits, generations of children and their families will benefit from her quiet generosity.
